On the 19th of May 2015, the University Of Southern California Marshall School of Business paid a visit to Peking University HSBC Business School. This school visit was organized by Nicole Chastagner, PHBS International Exchange Manager, and MindOverMandarin. Despite the heavy rains, we were joined by 44 MBA students, faculty, and staff all the way from Los Angeles, California, USA.

Ms. Chastagner delivered a presentation on Shenzhen and PHBS to familiarize our visitors. She went over the development Shenzhen has gone through for the past 30 years. Since its founding by Deng Xiaoping, Shenzhen has continuously grown into one of the most attractive tech hubs in Asia. This development will for sure not stop here, as she added that more people are moving here to start a new life, receive a world class education at PKU Shenzhen and be successful in the future.

Ms. Chastagner also covered the past ten years of PHBS’s development--specifically how the school went from a small campus with only local and two international students, into today’s almost three hundred and growing students from all continents. She emphasized the role of our exchange program, which helps promote PHBS as a school of creativity, firm discipline and rigorous academia.

Following a short Q&A session, the MBA class participated in a networking lunch with PHBS MBA students in PHBS’ restaurant Shang Shufang, generously hosted by our USC guests. Over a nice lunch, the students got the chance to get to know our MBA students to share their experiences and exchange name cards.
