PHBS Dean Wen Hai Speaks at 2018 PKU Global Financial Forum

As the year of 2018 marks Peking University (PKU)120th anniversary, 2018 PKU Global Financial Forum was held at Peking University Hall on May 6.
 

Themed with “ Orderly Development & Win-Win Cooperation”, the annual conference this year featured five keynote speeches and four sub-forums, which drew over 1,000 PKU alumni and guests from academia, business, financial industry worldwide to  discuss Chinese economic issues, the financial market, and exchange rates, among other topics.
 
PHBS Dean Hai delivers the opening remarks
 
In opening remarks, PHBS Dean Hai Wen, vice chairman of Peking University School Council and vice president of Peking University Alumni Association, extended warm welcome to all attendees, and further elaborated on the crucial status of 2018, as it marked the start of a new round of General Election and 40th anniversary of reform and opening up. He summed up this year's prospect in four key words “orderly development” and “win-win cooperation”.Orderly  development should hold the key to domestic financial market, while win- win cooperation were proposed for the development of international financial relationship. Those key words, also serving as the theme of 2018 PKU Global Financial Forum, were aimed at enhancing public confidence to push forward financial reforms and  promote the stability of International monetary system. 
 
Dean Hai also mentioned the progresses that Peking University Alumni Association had made for years. Through unremitting efforts, Peking University Alumni Association has developed into an important platform for PKU alumni in financial sector. On the inauguration of PKU UK campus this March,  the Union of Finance Alumni of Peking University (UFAPKU) London was founded, being the fifteenth branch of UFAPKU. In April 2018, UFAPKU officially established its seventh professional committee for listed companies, providing service for listed companies of PKU alumni, and promoting their communication and cooperation.
 
The forum drew a full house 
 
Bin Yu, press spokesman, researcher and Director of the General Office of Development Research Center of the State Council; Yiping Huang, vice dean of National School of Development at Peking University, director of Institute of Digital Finance, Peking University, member of Monetary Policy Committee of Central Bank and other guests delivered keynote speeches at the forum .​Hosted by Peking University Alumni Association and co-hosted by UFAPKU,  this forum also got support from branch unions in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, New York, Singapore, Toronto, London and other cities.
