Founded in 1971, EFMD set its mission to advance the development of management and business programs in the world. It has more than 800 organizations in 80 countries (as of November 2014), including first-class business schools, consulting firms, and public organizations. EPAS, (EFMD Program Accreditation System), is one of its two international education accreditation systems and renowned globally for its continuous preciseness and top-tier quality.
Located in China's first Special Economic Zone, and adjacent to the Asian financial hub of Hong Kong, PHBS is in a good position to leverage its strength in the Pearl River Delta, making it an ideal setting for studying the advances in finance, economics, and management– where coursework for full-time master’s and MBA programs is conducted in English.
In addition, within its MA degree programs, international students make up 15% of the students, and more than 100 foreign exchange students studying at PHBS every year. PHBS has over 60 full-time faculty members, and more than 95% of them earned their PhDs from prestigious overseas universities. Nearly half of the faculty are international themselves.
With high recognition to the school’s teaching quality, academic development, outstanding faculty and excellent students, EFMD accepted PHBS as its official member in December 2009, and conferred EPAS Accreditation to its Master of Economics program in September 2011, a milestone for PHBS’ development on international arena as the school has become the first Chinese higher institution that passed EPAS.

The 2017 re-accreditation review covered the school’s teaching evaluation, academic assessment, students’ development, internationalization and career support, etc. In attendance at the review process were PHBS Dean Wen Hai, Associate Dean Ting Ren, Assistant Dean Young Joon Park, other faculty members, senior management team, alumni and corporate partners.
In addition to EPAS, the school is in the final stage of achieving AACSB accreditation. Known as "the hallmark of excellence in business education", AACSB accreditation is granted by evaluating critical areas of each school to ensure that it provides top-quality education.
