My research areas include urban economics, transportation economics, and Chinese economy. My recent work focuses on facts of Chinese cities, public transit, internet, and firm-related topics.
I serve on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Urban Economics and the Journal of Economic Geography, am an Associate Editor of the China Economic Review and the China & World Economy, and am a consultant for the Asian Development Bank. My research has been funded by the NSF, the NSF Guangdong, and the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy.
