Application Requirements
Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with a valid passport.
Must hold a Master’s degree from a recognized university
Must have a GRE test score of 320 or higher.
Must have proof of English proficiency with a satisfactory TOEFL score (iBT 100 points or above, no sub score below 22), unless you’re a native English speaker.
Must have HSK scores of level 6 (over 210 points in total, and Writing over 65 points) is required.
It is highly recommended that applicants have a strong preparation in economics, preferably have taken intermediate microeconomics and intermediate macroeconomics courses at university-level or equivalency.

Application Materials
*Applicants will also need to courier below documents to our MA-PhD office as well. Please put your application documents in the following order and courier it to us.Please make sure mailed materials arrive before December 11, 2020.
1.Peking University Application Form for International Students (Master and Ph.D. Programs) with a photograph attached. You can apply here :
2. One photocopy of your valid passport (passport type must be ordinary).
3. Official transcripts of your academic achievement up to the present, including courses taken and standard achieved, must be original documents or certified copies either in Chinese or English;
4. Master's degree thesis (for fresh graduates in master program, please submit the abstract and table of contents of your thesis) and/or published academic papers and other original research results.
5. A personal statement (3000 words, in Chinese and English). The template can be downloaded at;
6. Two recommendation letters from your referees. The referees should be professors or persons with relevant academic title. At least one of them should have knowledge of your recent academic work. The recommendation letter must be original documents either in Chinese or English. Download the template here;
7. Official copies of GRE score, and non-native English speakers are required to submit TOEFL score (iBT 100 points or above, no sub score below 22);
8. Official copy of your HSK test transcript;
9. Your CV in Chinese and English;
10. Table of contents and abstracts of your academic publications and any other original achievement in your field.
