On the evening of September 3, PHBS held its 2025 Full-Time Master's and Ph.D. Program Opening Ceremony at the school's auditorium. Early in August, PHBS was thrilled to welcome a diverse and dynamic group of new students on its registration day. Among them are 302 Chinese master's students, 11 doctoral students, 72 international degree-seekers and 42 international exchange students.

During the ceremony, a commemorative video titled "Hui Chuan" (Convergence) captured the essence of a recent orientation camp, highlighting students' physical and mental growth through teamwork and challenges. The ceremony continued with a rendition of "Yan Yuan Qing" (Yan Garden Love), a song embodying the spirit and ideals of Peking University.

Professor Chen Liang introduces the leadership and faculty
Professor Chen Liang, assistant dean and director of the Full-Time Master's and Ph.D. Program, provided an overview of PHBS's exceptional faculty and international learning environment. He highlighted that the school boasts 80 full-time and 4 visiting professors, with foreign faculty accounting for about 20%, and over 95% holding doctoral degrees from top overseas universities.
Professor Jooyoung Park shares her advice
Professor Jooyoung Park, on behalf of the faculty, encouraged students to embrace failure, explore the unknown, and cherish the present. She urged them to step out of their comfort zones, pursue diverse paths, and cultivate a sense of fulfillment in their academic journey.

Student representatives also shared their insights. Ren Kai, a 2024 Financial Master's student, advised newcomers to make the most of school resources, appreciate their peers, develop holistic personalities, and dare to dream.
Zhang Wenjing, a 2025 Financial Management Master's student, recounted her decision to transition from Peking University's School of International Studies to PHBS, emphasizing the importance of vision, wisdom, and responsibility.
Isabelle Doreen Degener, a 2025 Management Master's student from Germany, expressed her gratitude for the warm welcome in Shenzhen and her eagerness to engage in multicultural exchanges and develop a global perspective.

In his concluding remarks, Dean Wang Pengfei reviewed PHBS's growth and encouraged students to uphold Peking University's traditions and contribute to the nation's development. He urged them to maintain a spirit of perseverance, become talented individuals with a global outlook, and respond to the demands of the times with wisdom and responsibility.

The ceremony concluded with a vibrant class talent show, where 22 master's classes, one doctoral class, one joint undergraduate program class, and one international exchange student class showcased their teamwork spirit and creativity. Three classes, including the exchange student class, won the "Best Popularity Award" for their outstanding performances.

The past few years have witnessed an increasing number of international students admitted to PHBS. This fall, the overseas students are from 30 countries in including Italy, France, Germany, Tailand, and Russia. The campus is poised to pulse with energy as these global talents converge. International students bring a rich mosaic of cultures, perspectives, and experiences, poised to enrich PHBS's academic and social landscape.
