On September 11, a delegation from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) visited Peking University HSBC Business School (PHBS) in Shenzhen for an initial exchange focused on exploring potential areas of collaboration between the two institutions.
The LSE delegation was led by Emma McCoy, vice-president and pro-vice-chancellor (education) at LSE, and included Leila Guerra, associate vice-president (education). The delegation was welcomed by Hai Wen, chair professor of economics, former vice president of Peking University, vice chair of the Peking University Council, and founding dean of PHBS; Wang Pengfei, Peking University Boya Distinguished Professor and dean of PHBS.

The visit began with a tour of the PHBS building, during which the LSE delegation learned about the school’s facilities and development since its establishment. The tour was followed by a meeting at which the two sides exchanged views on areas of mutual interest.

During the meeting, Hai Wen introduced PHBS UK campus and its related programs, highlighting the school’s commitment to cross-border academic engagement. Emma McCoy outlined LSE’s current priorities in education and international collaboration and expressed interest in exploring joint initiatives with PHBS. The two sides also discussed potential short-term exchange programs, the development of AI-related teaching initiatives, and opportunities for entrepreneurial immersion.

Also participating in the exchange were David Lander, associate professor and deputy director of PHBS UK Campus; and Zhang Kun, associate professor, assistant dean, executive director of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and director of the Executive Development Program Office at PHBS. Both sides agreed to maintain close contact and explore concrete opportunities for collaboration in the near term.
