Master in China Studies for Economics and Management Program
Eligibility
For International Applicants
Non-Chinese citizens with a valid foreign passport.

Bachelor's degree. 

Proof of English proficiency. Non-native English speakers should provide either TOEFL (90 and above) or IELTS (6.5 and above) test results or equivalent evidence of English proficienty.

Working experience. Applicants with previous experience in entrepreneur management  are preferred.
For Applicants from Hong Kong, Macau, or Taiwan
Applicants from Hong Kong or Macau must hold
Hong Kong or Macau permanent resident ID card, and
Either "Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macau Residents" or "Residence Permit for Hong Kong and Macau Residents."

Applicants from Taiwan must hold
A valid identity certificate for living in Taiwan, and
Either "Mainland Travel Permit for Taiwan Residents" or "Residence Permit for Taiwan Residents."

A bachelor's degree. Applicants who graduated from non-Chinese universities must hold a bachelor's degree from a university accredited by the Ministry of Education of P. R. China.

1. Peking University Application Form for International Students (Master and Ph.D. Programmes) : Please visit http://www.studyatpku.com.

2.  Graduation and degree certificates and degree authentication in Chinese or English: For degree certificates in other languages, applicants are required to upload both the original copy and a notarized copy in Chinese or English. Degree diplomas awarded by overseas universities must be authenticated by the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange, Ministry of Education, P. R. China (CSCSE). Degree diplomas awarded by universities on the Chinese mainland must be authenticated by the Center for Student Services and Development, Ministry of Education, P. R. China (CSSD).

3. Official transcripts of academic achievement, including courses taken and standards achieved: The documents must be original or certified copies in Chinese or English. 

4. Statement of Purpose: download the template here.

5. Two recommendation letters: The recommendation letters must be original documents in Chinese or English. Once applicants submit the online appication, the application system will send a link to the recommenders, and the recommenders should click the link and complete the recommendation by uploading the scanned copy of the signed letter.

6. Certified TOEFL or IELTS test reports.

7. One photocopy of your valid passport.

For Applicants from Hong Kong, Macau, or Taiwan
1. Application Form for Postgraduate Study in Peking University for 2024 Intake: Please apply in the online system https://admission.pku.edu.cn/applications/. Download and print the form, sign it, and send the hard copy.
 
2. Copies of valid ID documents: Residents from Hong Kong and Macau regions must submit copies of (a) Hong Kong or Macau permanent resident ID card and (b) "Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macau Residents" or “Residence Permit for Hong Kong and Macau Residents.” Residents of Taiwan must submit copies of (a) valid identity of residents in Taiwan and (b) "Mainland Travel Permit for Taiwan Residents" or "Resident Permit for Taiwan Residents." Upload the documents and send hard copies.
 
3. Copies of graduation certificate and degree diploma: With the copies of graduation certificate and degree diploma, please also submit Degree Accreditation Report issued by the Chinese Ministry of Education for the foreign bachelor's degree diploma. The original Degree Accreditation Report issued by the Chinese Ministry of Education for the foreign bachelor's degree diploma must be submitted once the applicant gets admitted.
The original graduation certificate and degree diploma must be verified for registration. Upload the documents and send hard copies.
 
4. The original or notarized copy of the official transcript of the graduated institution in English or Chinese: Upload the documents and send hard copies.
 
5. Personal postgraduate statement: Briefly introduce your academic background and focus on the study and research plan in Chinese and English. The Chinese statement should be 1500 words. 6. Two recommendation letters: The recommendation letters must be original documents in Chinese or English. Please click (https://admission.pku.edu.cn/zsxx/gatzs/gatzsjz/index.htm) to download the template. The recommendation letters must be sealed and signed by the recommender and sent via regular mail.
 
7. Certified score reports of TOEFL or IELTS: Upload the score online and send the hard copy.
 
8. Resume: Send the hard copy.
 
9. Application fee: 138 RMB for application. 
 
10. Any other original achievement in your field if you have: Upload the documents online and send hard copies.

Application Deadline

The online application period for 2024 intake is from October 16th, 2023 to March 31st, 2024. Applicants must complete the online application process and submit necessary documents in hard copies.
For Applicants from Hong Kong, Macau, or Taiwan
The online application for 2024 intake is from 9:00 am, November 6, 2023 to 5:00 pm, December 29, 2023 . Applicants must complete the online application process and submit necessary documents in hard copies.
Application Screening and Interview
The Admissions Committee completes application screening within PHBS. Finalists will be invited for  interviews, with interview invitations sent out approximately one week in advance.
Admissions
The Graduate School of Peking University will review the applications of those who successfully pass the interview. Upon obtaining approval of admission from the Graduate School, the offers of admission will be mailed out by July of the enrolment year.
Medical Insurance
All students must be medically insured throughout their entire planned period of study.
Visa Information
International students admitted to the PHBS MCS programme must apply for the visa at the Chinese Embassy/Consulate in your country with the letter of admission and JW201/202 form provided by the school.
