In the afternoon of September 2, Sarah Mann, the British Consul General in Guangzhou, accompanied by Francis Fennelly, Economic Consul of the British Consulate General in Guangzhou, and Bany Liu, Policy Officer of the British Consulate General in Guangzhou, visited Peking University HSBC Business School (PHBS) and delivered a lecture to students preparing for cross-border study at the school’s UK campus.

The lecture begins after a brief introduction of Sarah Mann, the British Consul General in Guangzhou, by Professor Young Joon Park

The lecture aimed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of British society and support their transition to life in the UK. Mann introduced various aspects of the country, including its history, culture, political system, life style, culinary traditions, higher education, and climate. She particularly emphasised the UK’s diversity and openness, noting its multicultural and multi-religious demographic makeup. Mann also gave students practical tips for living and thriving in the UK and hoped them could act as bridges between China and the UK during their studies abroad.

Students from the UK campus cross-border program share their first-hand tips for living and studying in the UK

PHBS offers its students a unique international study experience. Its UK campus, located in Oxfordshire, serves as the home for first-year students enrolled in cross-border programmes, who then complete their second year in Shenzhen. Additionally, other master's, PhD, and executive programs may provide exchange opportunities at the UK campus for shorter-term international learning experiences. Through these lively interactions after the lecture, students not only gained valuable insights but also foundational knowledge essential for their upcoming academic journey in the UK.
