This talk focuses on the cultural shaping of moral foundations, exploring how the universal claim made by Moral Foundation Theory is conditioned by culture. Two studies are included in this talk. Study 1 focuses on Covid-19 Vaccination and utilizes Mturk samples from USA and India, to examine how moral attitudes influence choices of media channels and vaccine attitudes\willingness in the two cultures. Study 2 brings moral foundation dictionary into the Chinese language context. This study takes a theory-method co-development approach to answer theoretical questions through methodological advancement. This talk concludes with a discussion on how moral foundation theory can be used to study human-AI interactions.
