PHBS Holds 2021 Opening Ceremony-Peking University HSBC Business School(PHBS)

Following orientation activities, Peking University HSBC Business School (PHBS) welcomed students at its opening ceremony on September 8. Over 300 full-time master and Ph.D. students attended the event, which was livestreamed for new international students to watch from their respective countries.The ceremony was kicked off by the video clip about students' training and outdoor activities, showing their memorable experience and challenging moments at the camp.

Assistant Dean Young Joon Park introduces faculty

Professor Park introduced the school’s faculty and academic strength to new students. The school has 78 full-time faculty members, and most of them earned their PhDs from prestigious overseas universities.

Jaehyuk Choi speaks on behave of faculty

Professor Choi encouraged students to "reinvent the wheel” in their own way and stressed the importance of self-motivated learning and creative thinking. He held that students need to learn how to acquire knowledge, think independently, and stay open-minded so as to achieve self-realization.

Li, representing the class of 2020, spoke about the various experiences that one would had at PHBS and gave the details on valuable resources available here. She advised fellow students on how to cope with pressure, make friends and stay true to yourself.

Zhang Hanwen,student representative of class 2021

Zhang, speaking on behalf of the class of 2021, recalled shared memories, laugher and teamwork during the fitness and team-building training. She concluded that she was looking forward to the new journey at PHBS, and hoped that “we could become future leaders with high responsibility and self discipline, conbributing to the whole society ".

Later, students from PHBS’s different fields of research were divided into 24 groups. They had practiced for days to showcase their talent and skills through their creative productions, including choreographed performances and choruses.
