PHSB Strategic Conference, 2009, was held beside the picturesque Erhai Lake, in Dali which has the reputation of “Oriental Geneva”, in May 9th. Prof. Wen Hai, vice president of Peking University, Dean of Shenzhen graduate school of business, Prof. Vincent Chang, vice dean of PHSB, Prof. Wei Wei, vice dean of PHSB, together with all faculty and staffs including Prof. Gang Fan, carried out an active and constructive discussion.
At the beginning of the meeting, all the teachers recalled the teaching and research situations. The responsible person reported the development and operating situations of their research institutions one by one. After listening to the reports, Prof. Wen Hai encouraged everyone to attach importance to scientific research, to identify their own areas of expertise and strive to be a professional in the field. He also encouraged teachers to strengthen the exchange of internal and external experts and be active in academic exchange activities and publishing papers.
Prof. Vincent Chang, vice dean of PHSB introduced the work results of the Curriculum Committee, Admissions Committee, Academic Committee, Recruitment Commission in the past year. Participants carried out an active and constructive discussion involving curriculum and teaching.
The discussion also included the situation of employment and disciplinary. The current employment situation of graduates in PHSB is still gratifying in the economic downturn. PHSB emphasized the cultivation of qualities and disciplinary of students.
All the participants agreed that HSBC School of Business is to become a military school in business circle with strict management and high commitment and this is a major feature of PHSB.
Prof. Wei Wei, vice dean of PHSB, introduced the site of the new building of PHSB, reported the performance of EDP over the past year and put forward a lot of constructive suggestion.
