Ralph Hexter, Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor of UC Davis Visits PHBS

On March 15, 2018, Ralph Hexter, Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor of University of California, Davis (UC Davis) paid a visit to Peking University HSBC Business School (PHBS). PHBS Dean Wen Hai,  Assistant Dean Fanmin Kong, and Assistant Dean Young Joon Park gave him a reception, they discussed on scientific research and teaching, disciplinary development and international communications. 
 

Located in Davis, California, UC Davis is one of the world's leading cross-disciplinary research and teaching institutions, serving as one of the 10 campuses of the University of California system. It is also a member of Public Ivy League, which stands for public institutions that provided what he considered the equivalent of an Ivy League education at the lower costs associated with public institutions. Meanwhile, UC Davis is one of the top tier universities in the US. In 1991, PHBS Dean Wen Hai received his master degree of economics and PhD degree in UC Davis.

Dean Wen Hai introduced Ralph Hexter about the development, education pattern, management system, faculty members, student cultivation and campus construction of Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School and PHBS, and accompanied him on the visit of PHBS building. After the visiting, Ralph Hexter praised PHBS for its internationalized education, cutting-edge researching and teaching as well as its environment. 
 

As an active advocator of global education, Ralph Hexter shared his ideas about the future and practices of education, as well as his consideration upon world’s top universities meeting with the new trend of global challenge. He hoped to push forward Sino-US educational communication and cooperation on the basis of this visit.
