International students visit BLOGIS and Shenzhen Marina Bay Club
On 20 March 2019, international students from Peking University HSBC Business School (PHBS) visited BLOGIS and Shenzhen Bay Marina Club. The visits were part of the China Studies class, taught by Professor Haifeng Huang. The mission of the course is to teach international students more about the Chinese economy, one of the fastest growing economies in the world.
The day started with a visit to BLOGIS Holdings Limited. BLOGIS is regarded as a first-class logistics platform. The company develops and operates warehousing facilities and logistics parks in China. It also provides additional services, such as planning and design, location selection consultancy, project construction and other operational services.
The company is very active in the real estate business. Its focus is on prime real estate in big cities such as Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Shanghai. BLOGIS partners across countries with high-end partners, third party logistic providers, e-commerce businesses, retailers and wholesalers.
The students were greeted cordially and treated to a very interesting and insightful presentation by the Chairman of BLOGIS and CEO of Shenzhen New Nanshan Holding Group Co. Ltd, Dr. Wang Shiyun. Dr. Wang gave a brief overview of the history and the current state of their diverse business activities and the respective markets they operate in. Dr. Wang’s forecast of the Chinese real estate market and the resultant strategy of BLOGIS garnered a lot of interest among the students and sparked numerous fascinating questions, which Dr. Wang answered expertly and thoroughly.
International students visit the BLOGIS company museum
BLOGIS offered a wonderful opportunity to visit and take part of a guided tour in their company museum. The museum provided students an opportunity to learn more about the company’s most important moments, what the company has achieved in the past and how it has become the successful company it is today.
International students enjoy visiting Shenzhen Marina Bay Club
After a wonderful time at BLOGIS, the class moved on to their next company visit, Shenzhen Marina Bay Club.
Shenzhen Marina Bay Club is a unique private community located at the south coast of Shenzhen, where members and families can enjoy a comfortable and sophisticated environment, as well as meeting like-minded people, making new friends and possibly fostering new business relationships.
As the bus arrived at Shenzhen Marina Bay Club, the class was greeted by Mr. Jerry Ye and Mr. Alex Liu, who gave a warm welcome for the whole class. After an insightful and comprehensive introduction about the company Mr. Ye and Mr. Liu took the class on an interesting tour of the company grounds. The class had a very unique and exciting opportunity of exploring a rather large yacht, where the students were very eager to take lots of pictures. It was also a great chance to see what kind of maritime services Shenzhen Marina Bay Club provides. Afterwards, the tour continued indoors into the company’s state of the art premises, where the class could relax, enjoy drinks and get a small example of what it is like to be a member of Shenzhen Marina Bay Club.
