PHBS UK Programs
Peking University HSBC Business School, one of the most promising business schools in China, is proud of its accomplishments in the area of graduate education. With its main campus located in the thriving and entrepreneurial city of Shenzhen, China, PHBS has taken a bold step by opening a new campus in Boar’s Hill, England, three miles south of Oxford City.

Presently, PHBS offers 2 MA cross-border programs: Management and Finance and 1 MBA cross-border program. Both are two year, full-time, culminating in a final thesis and cross-border programs. Students admitted to these programs spend the first year of their master's degrees at the PHBS UK Campus, and their second year at the PHBS Shenzhen Campus in China, alongside Chinese peers and in an environment of cross-cultural dialogue.
The faculty members have earned their PhD degrees from top-ranked universities over the world, and all courses are instructed exclusively in English.
These programs are a great opportunity for students to, not only have a specialist training and cross-disciplinary coursework, but also a multi-country experience and in-depth cross-cultural exposure. 

• PHBS UK-China Master of Finance

This program provides specialist training in finance, modern financial theories, application and methodologies. Finance students also have the comfort of knowing that PHBS Master of Finance courses are recognized by the CFA Institute University Affiliation Program for preparing students for the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) exams. The curriculum is very quantitative based and requires students to have a very high level of mathematical skills.
Courses include:  Financial Markets, Financial Economics, Applied Econometrics, Financial Markets and Investments in China, General and Business Chinese, as well as elective courses
 
It aims to develop in students a comprehensive understanding of financial performance and management. The Finance program prepares students for a variety of careers, such as chief financial officers, risk management specialists, corporate fund managers and more. This program also enables the students to pursue PhD degrees or carry out research in related concentrations in finance.

• 
PHBS UK-China Master of Management

This program provides a specialist training in management and covers cross-disciplinary coursework such as management theories, economics, and organization behavior, and how to apply them to real world corporate issues. It incorporates mathematical and logical thinking with creative and lateral thinking for analyzing and solving problems.
Courses include: Strategic Management, Operations Management, Organizational Behavior, Empirical Business Analysis, Marketing Management, General and Business Chinese, as well as elective courses.
 
It aims to to develop in students solid theoretical knowledge in management as well as the ability to carry out research in related concentrations. It also aims to prepare students with the cutting edge expertise in corporate management, and ability to provide solutions to practical business issues by applying managerial theories. It provides hard and soft skills required to turn students into innovative global management leaders in a wide range of sectors and careers.

 Online applications will open in October 2017, and the requirements are the same as for Shenzhen campus programs:
Must have proof of English proficiency
Must be graduated with a Bachelor degree or higher
Must be a non-Chinese citizen and hold a valid passport
 
Tuitions for the PHBS UK-China cross-border programs are 12,000 GBP per year and must be paid in full in the first week of each academic year. 
In addition, expenses for room and board at UK campus are estimated to be around 16,000 GBP per year and expenses for room on board at Shenzhen campus are estimated to be around 30,000 RMB per year.
Master's program applicants are eligible to apply for scholarships to support their studies (school sponsored and Chinese Government Scholarships)

• PHBS UK-China MBA

PHBS provides you with an opportunity to study  Peking University’s MBA programmes in PHBS UK Campus, while concurrently developing your business and personal networks with China.
With the rapid rise of China’s economy and the increase of Chinese outward investments, the demand for the international business community to understand Chinese business culture and practices is growing exponentially.  Peking University HSBC Business School’s (PHBS) MBA programme offers tailor-made courses designed and delivered by faculty who are specifically qualified in teaching MBA programmes with a China focus, so building students ability to analyse the latest developments of the Chinese economy and markets within a rigorous framework of generic business theory. Besides curriculum study, students will also have the opportunity to develop business networking with leading China-related professionals, academics, company directors, and entrepreneurs.  Additionally, PHBS will provide support for you to access funding opportunities in China for business start-ups or career development within or outside China after graduation from the MBA programme.
 
Highlights of the Programme
 
The PHBS MBA is a 24-month programme, leading to a Master of Business Administration degree awarded by Peking University.  The programme consists of taking 16 courses within 16 months, two months of field study and project research, leading to the graduate thesis after  6 months. The courses will be offered in PHBS UK Campus (Oxfordshire), London, PHBS Shenzhen Campus, or Peking University Beijing Campus.  Each course will be taught over two weekends, a Friday and Saturday, monthly.  On each of the two weekends, Business Communication with Chinese, Cross-Cultural Understanding, and basic Mandarin Chinese will be taught on each Friday evening in an informal setting. These accumulated classes represent one course and will last the duration of the taught programme with the aim of equipping students with basic language skills and a sound understanding of the Chinese culture.     
The programme has nine required core courses (18 credits) and one course of Business Communication with Chinese (4 credits).  The core courses provide the foundation for business management and operation as well as an in-depth understanding of China’s economy, governance, and business practice.   In addition to these ten compulsory taught courses, students should also take seven elective courses (14 credits).  The elective courses aim to widen the management knowledge and skills of students.  These courses can be taken in the classroom or online.
 
The programme also requires students to attend two field studies (8 credits) in China for extensive exploration of Chinese enterprises and their business practices.   Each field study consists of 10 -12 days.  Students should conduct a research project (6 credits) to write a thesis.
 
To be awarded the MBA degree from Peking University, students are required to finish with a total of 50 credits and complete a MBA thesis and a viva to defense it.
The programme is conducted in English.
The faculty of the programme consists of PHBS senior professors and visiting scholars from UK academics and business practitioners.
 
Entry Requirement
 
The programme is mainly designed for residents of EU/UK.  Applicants must have graduated from recognized universities or colleges with a BSc or BA degree or above, and have at least one year’s relevant working experience.  A valid GMAT or GRE score, or other proof of competency, are also required for application.
Non-native speakers of English need to provide proof of English proficiency with a score of TOEFL (100 or above), GRE (1300 or above) or IELTS (6.5 or above)
 
Tuition and Scholarship
 
Tuition for the two-year MBA program is £46,000, payable in two-halves at the beginning of each academic year.   The offer of scholarships to cover tuition fees partially will be considered for applicants on the basis of their merits and work experiences.
