The International Conference Center saw the PKU Shenzhen 2012 National Day and New Student Welcome Celebration at 7 pm on 26^th Sep 2012. Vice President of Peking University and Chancellor of PKU Shenzhen, Hai Wen, Vice Chancellor Luan Shengji and Li Guicai, accompanied by exhilarated audience, joined their students at the celebration.

The hall was first fueled by some hot dance moves in a dance drama from the School of Urban Planning and Design, called “Nanyan Style.” Following that, students as well as teachers from all eights school brought together a gala with songs, dances, musicals and dramas that won joyous applause from all of the spectators.

The stage also saw the Shenzhen Universiade 2012 International Scholarship Foundation of PKU Shenzhen Award Ceremony. Chancellor Hai gave awards to those outstanding international students and Chinese students studied abroad.

“PKU is an international campus, and we always take internationalization as our goal. The School support its students to go abroad, and welcome people to come here as well. We hope more students can have this award in the future,” Chancellor Hai noted on the ceremony.

A screen was set up for mini-blog display, where students’ comments on the celebration could be seen by all the spectators. Many of the comments were brilliant and gained loud applause. Some students observed that the mini-blog screen was the real focal point of the celebration.

“All our students were the real focus,” said the background hero responsible for the mini-blog screen operation, which was true considering the devotion of both performers and spectators.
