The Center for Macroeconomy and Finance, Peking University is an academic research institute officially approved by Peking University and affiliated with the Peking University HSBC Business School. Jointly established by Peking University HSBC Business School and Ping An Technology (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd., the research center focuses on the role of artificial intelligence and big data in macroeconomic and financial analysis, forecasting, and using structural macroeconometrics to develop research projects in macroeconomics, international trade, quantitative finance, market investment and other fields, to accelerate the applications of the latest research results suitable for China's national conditions in the practice of China's macroeconomic and financial reform and development. We will work hard to promote the construction of China's modern macro-economic control system and financial system.
Professor Wang Pengfei, Associate Dean of Peking University HSBC Business School, is the Director of the Center. Professor Thomas Sargent, the 2011 Nobel laureate in economics, is the chief adviser of the Center. Professors of related fields at Peking University HSBC Business School, together with senior researchers of Ping An Technology (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd., will conduct various multi-dimensional and multi-perspective research projects.
The Center for Macroeconomic and Financial Research, Peking University will bring its academic research advantages into full play, and with the help of the technological capabilities of Ping An Science and Technology and massive real data, it will engage in research in the frontier areas of macroeconomics and finance, and expand the space for academic innovation. It will also focus on school-enterprise cooperation and think-tank construction to provide forward-looking research and policy advices to government agencies, financial institutions and enterprises with an international perspective.
